Description

Richard Saunders, an English writer on the stars and the body, wrote this guide to palmistry in 1663. Palmistry reads fate from the lines and shapes of the hand. The book came out in the years just after the king came back to the throne.

Saunders maps the hand line by line, mount by mount, and gives the sense of each mark. He mixes star lore with the hand's signs, as the craft then stood. The guide was the main English book on the art and was reprinted for a hundred years.
