Description
Two American prisoners of war were sighted in Dinh Tuong province, a February 1972 item reports. Dinh Tuong sits in the Mekong Delta's heart, laced with canals and rivers. Delta prisoners were held in small camps that boats and tides governed.
Sightings from the Delta arrived through waterborne networks of traders and villagers. Each had to be placed against a map where camps moved with seasons and pressure. Two men seen together suggested a camp or transfer nearby. This file adds their sighting to the river country's prisoner record, one of the war's hardest regions to document.
